Dear Dominique,

After a hugely successful campaign for the first “Switzerland” in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, the journey now begins for another Swiss entry in the 2015-16 race and beyond. The Swiss entry in the world’s longest ocean race was placed a very respectable 5th out of 12 identical yachts with an exceptional safety record and minimal damage.  Led by the Vicky Ellis, the only female skipper, and with a multi-cultural crew made up of Swiss, British, French, Germans and others – the yacht was very representative of Switzerland and carried the Swiss brand proudly around the world.

The crew of Switzerland also raised money for the charity Mercy Ships during their eleven month adventure helping to save the lives of more than 30 patients on the African Mercy hospital ship. They are also shortlisted for the Mirabaud World Yacht Race Image Awards.

You are now invited to be a part of the next Swiss Clipper challenge, continuing the success of Switzerland in ocean sailing internationally.

For the crew, the Clipper Race is unique and offers the opportunity for amateur crew to test themselves on the planets harshest oceans and to circumnavigate the globe like famous Swiss sailors such as Pierre Fehlmann and Dominique Wavre.

For our race partners the Clipper Race is just as unique. By carrying your brand around the world and telling the world your story, the Clipper Race offers an eleven month activation platform impacting on trade, tourism, social and corporate responsibility, employee engagement and environmental awareness.

Hosted by la Société nautique de Genève, on 2 December 2014 at 19h00 we offer you the opportunity to hear the story of Switzerland during the Clipper 2013-14 Race and find out how you can be part of the story moving forward.

Guest speakers will include local crew from Switzerland 2013-14, local crew who are signed up for Clipper 2015-16 and are very keen to represent their country again and David Cusworth, Development Director, Clipper Ventures, and circumnavigator on the Clipper Race in 2002.
